Wow! Class last night was great. A lot of new faces were there and everyone of them had a smile on their face. We worked, we sweated, and we laughed a lot.

As the title says,welcome.This is our first blog,but not our last. This will keep you up to date on the incredible happenings at Sanders Black Belt Academy. We’ve been  an  Austin Martial Arts School since 1982 and in business since 1966. We are one of the top schools in the world and I am the chief instructor Sijo. Sijo is a Chinese Kung Fu title that means Founder. The system we practice is called Nei Wai Chia (Internal External System) it is a compilation of the best techniques from my over 50 years of martial arts training. We draw from such arts as Wing Chun, Jiu Jitsu, Hsing I , Aiki Ju Jutsu, Bagua, Silat, Tai Chi, Boxing, Shaolin, Savate, Jeet Kune Do, and many more. Our classes are a combination of traditional and modern. The main ingredient in all of them though is FUN! There’s never been an Austin martial arts school like this one.

We have monthly workshops in weapons as well as Healing Arts, and twice a year we have an all day workshop called the Sijo Clinic with Black Belts, Masters, and even Grand Masters teaching all day long. We have our next Sijo Clinic coming up August 23rd. Registration begins at 8:30am and classes start at 9am. The charge is $50 and we expect to have guest instructors fro Oklahoma, Texas, and Mexico.Come join us and have a great time.No experience is necesarry.

We’re having two promotions at this Sijo Clinic, one will be our Children’s teacher Patrick Lantz. Patrick will be going up to Black Belt (incidently in the shortest time ever 2 years). If you wonder how he did it so fast,it was simple. Between the classes he teaches and the classes he attends he makes 20 classes a week. That’s right A WEEK!

Our othe rstudent being promoted is Sibok (Master Teacher) James Reed. James is being promoted to Guro in Silat. I showed it to him a few years ago and he just loved it. Good going to both Patrick & James.

Our newest class is about to open. It is the Little Tiger’s .This is for our youngest students ages 3 to 5. This class will be taught by Ms Sarah Roseberry. Sara is finishing up a degree in child development and we know she’ll do a great job. For more info on this class ,stay tuned.

We’ll that’s it for right now. I’ll be blogging three or four times a week.
